Rachel Silverstein

NYS Bar Candidate Rachel Silverstein

Rachel Silverstein received her Juris Doctor from Touro Law School in 2020. During her time at Touro Law, Rachel published two Touro Law Review articles, Comic Books, the First Amendment, and the “Best Test” For Right of Publicity Issues (2021) and The Law of Obscenity in Comic Books (2020). Rachel was the president of Lambda Law Students Association, Marketing & Public Relations Representative of Intellectual Property Law Society, a research assistant, and teaching assistant for Legal Process I & II and Criminal Law. Rachel received an Exemplary Contributions to the Quality of Student Life Award at graduation.

Rachel also holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from College of Charleston (2015) in geology and a Master’s of Science from East Tennessee State University (2017) in geosciences with a concentration on paleontology. During college, she was the vice-president and co-founder of the College of Charleston Comic Book Club. Rachel’s Master’s thesis, A Paleontological Analysis of Late Pleistocene Proboscidea from Saltville, Virginia: Taphonomy, Systematic Paleontology, and Paleobiology, focused on ice age elephants such mammoths and mastodons.

Aside from the law, Rachel enjoys playing bass guitar, building things out of cigar boxes, and writing comic books. She published her debut co-written comic book Renegade Rule in 2021. It was published by Dark Horse Comics.
